Description

Since 2020, the Dutch Customs Laboratory has been organising technical meetings on the use of handheld devices for Customs Chemists and Customs officers using handheld devices or officials authorised to purchase equipment.

The objective of the meeting is to exchange experiences on how mobile detection equipment can be used in practice. 

The training session will include;
-A short overview of the (proposed) use of (portable) detection equipment by each participating country/participant;
-Presentations and use of various handheld devices at the practical training centre at the Port of Rotterdam;
-Presentations and use of various handheld devices at the practical training centre at Schiphol

Note: CLEN-TAS had already selected the following participants: IE (2) (IE Lab has cancelled participation), IT (2), BG (2), DK (2), GR (1), PT (1). Not all participants on the CLEN-TAS list have confirmed their participation yet.

Profile of participants

Two delegates per Member State with a maximum of 10 participants;
-One participant from the Customs Laboratory (chemist) 
-One Customs Officer, (potentially) using handheld devices OR an official authorised to purchase equipment
