Description
This training workshop, designed as highly interactive, aims to:
- familiarise the participants with radiation issues, in particular with technical and work measures to limit any exposure of persons to radiation and radiation's negative impact on the environment,
- focus on the equipment needed to determine radiation dose, dose rate and source activity.
All participants will get more experience with practical use of the equipment, mainly in maintaining their (as well as others) radiation safety when protecting their national borders. They will also learn about the principles of protection against ionising radiation and go through cases with which customs officers may encounter most frequently (such as transport of radiopharmaceuticals or goods containing radionuclides). Also, all participants are expected to be authorised in using personal radiation monitor, handheld radiation monitor, mobile radiation detection device or other similar equipment.
