Short description
The training content relates to the main types of buses and minibuses. The exercises are organized in a real environment. The customs officers participating in the training event will be acquainted with the safe and proper use of the tools and the different special features. The training session provides comprehensive basic knowledge for searching buses. The training course focuses specifically on the structures of buses, minibuses and on safe methods to perform controls. The training includes also other aspects of vehicle technique.

Description
Background
The main purpose of the Bus Search training is to strengthen the safety of all member states within the EU, as it includes both passengers and goods control. Moreover this training would lead to protect the financial and economic interests of the European Union.
Objectives
The objective of this CLEP event is to improve the professional and technical skills and professional competencies of customs officers controlling buses (especially selecting buses for search, and performing bus search, knowing how to inspect vehicle structures and to find possible hiding places).

- Knowing the bus search techniques;
- Identifying best practicies;
- Having trained officials who can pass on the gained information to colleagues at national level;

- Presentation of the bus-search inspection methods; structure of the buses; risk analysis; training methods; etc.

Profile of participants
The training is targeted to Customs officers dealing with the bus search
- Customs officials with sound knowledge and practical expertise on bus search;
- Customs officials working in the field of the bus search (i.e. in mobile groups, posrt, border crossing points)
The participants will be chosen based on their profiles as indicated in the aplication. Practical everyday experience in bus search is key for participating in this training.
